:( help. he thinks im his best friend

ok. im going to try to cut a long story short
awhile ago, me and my bf had an argument and i was upset and this boy, Jake was there for me. he was friends with my bf (Adam) before me but basically, he was there for me and we started spending alot of time together even when me and my bf made up.
Now i like him and hes my friend and all and he says that he doesnt Fancy me or have any feelings like that for me. But recently, he wants to see me allllll the time and he keeps saying stuff like
"we have a really good friendship" and "i really like the time we spend together" and whenever hes away he calls me up and is like "i really miss you"
and hes just really clingy and its really REALLY starting to freak me out and scare me.
i dont know how to tell him and i kinda feel sorry for him.
plus hes always bitching about my bf and stuff.. nothing major just little comments and its like, yea i love him ykno.
i just wish hed leave me alone, but i still wana be his friend yknow?
