Safetynet, good news, your friend is a failure. Do you really think that if someone REALLY wanted themselves dead that there'd be ANYTHING that anyone could do to stop them?

Life is such a fragile thing, ending one is no difficult feat, the really difficult feat is just to manage to survive any given day. And If your friend was really working her ass off for others then take my word for it, there'd have been hardly any time to even contemplate suicide. Also if your friend is from a religion that believes in reincarnation then she can't be counted, for some fairly obvious reasons. But here's a funny thing, aren't you putting people into boxes and thinking that telling them "nice" things and showing off your teeth is what everyone needs? Yeah. Neat trick, huh? Turning it about like that?

What do I actually tell people with that sort of shit in their posts? Think about it very carefully. Find a fault in the message, not the delivery of the message. Until you do, you're just being a naive little girl who's more than a bit of an ass at times.

People can be cruel. Some don't realize that if someone is on that critical point, that that one thing could be life and death. I think it's because they haven't experienced those feelings. I know, because one of my friends attempted suicide. She's better now, but if they hadn't saved her, she wouldn't be. She told me that you should really smile at someone who looks like they need it and say something nice to them, because it could be the one thing that gives them hope to keep living. I hate how people put everyone into boxed categories, as if every person who is suicidal needs the same thing said to them. My friend was very much an intelligent person, always volunteering, very kind. Yes, volunteering gives you joy inside, but sometimes even those people can be extremely sad, and you don't lose anything by being kind to someone, or giving them a little attention or making them feel like the world does care. That little bit of hope you give them could help them go on to totally change their life, maybe it would be that little push they need to start helping themselves, people need time to learn life's lessons, we're not all born understanding ourselves and the world. I don't know. Kindness is free, and a few nice words go a long way, but so do a few mean ones.

Perhaps suicide is attention seeking. Why is that so bad?

I am still baffled by the fact you actualy think you helping anyone but well obviously I'm going to change your world view (which I assume is extremely similar to your own colon) which you will now im sure you will staunchly defend and tell me how stupid I am so lets just save it and call it over for now, you can say you won if you like.

Did you actually go back and read what I wrote yet? Did you take the time to figure out what was said? Did you feel like an idiot for coming into the questioning with the answers that you hoped to hear already mapped out so clearly that you kept arguing with yourself despite what was actually put in front of you, proving my point in the process?

Here's an example of someone who didn't read what was written but what they'd like to think was written. That's a pretty sure sign of being an idiot right there. If they'd pause to read what was written they might notice that there was a world of difference between the two. Might change their whole outlook on life, a revelation like that.

My posts are generally probably the most helpful ones you see on any given secret. Stupidity is what annoys me most, but people can grow out of that, even though not all do.
I prefer when people actually figure out what it is I've told them and then there's no argument afterwards.

I have a question for you Cynic, a simple question. Why do you come on here? Everyone (well almost everyone) seems to annoy you and you never actually post anything? I am not telling you to go away just asking. Do you just like argueing?

I've seen enough suicidal posts on here to know when someone is seeking attention or being serious.

Read what I wrote some time. When you get past the shock of seeing someone reply who isn't pandering to the bullshit, maybe you'll actually figure out what was said.

I'm sorry...but if you're looking for something to 'keep you alive' then turning to a website (especially one like this) and a bunch of complete strangers isn't exactly the brightest idea. If you were really suicidal you wouldn't be on here.

So why do you think it's okay to encourage another (indirectly) to attempt it as well?

For all I know you could just as easily be NOT dying right now. See the thing is, I know that someone who wants to kill themselves will do it regardless of what I say or do to try to stop them.

On the other hand, if you DON'T end up offing yourself, hopefully you'll take my advice and go out and find something a little bit more useful to do with yourself than wander around talking about how much you are going to kill yourself in the hopes of having people pay attention to you.

Easily when the person is just an attention whore and nothing else. A person who really wanted to commit suicide wouldn't be looking for attention, just people thinking they're okay so it's easier to be alone and commit suicide.
