Confusing!!!

so I have liked this one guy for a really long time and the other day he said that he liked me..well I said "I didnt know if you liked me or not" and he said "well I flirt with you all the time"
but then when I ask him if we are more than friends he sais he doesnt want me to be the rebound girl becasue he just got out of a 2 year relationship (which he did)
but that Im an amazing girl and he loves hanging out with me
is this just a guys bullshit way of saying I dont like you?

he's still getting over her!! give him a break! if you two start out too quickly, he'll just think he made such a big mistake and leave you anyways...

I think that he is kinda reeling from his relationship like he says he is, but he does like you. He wants to keep you close as a friend for right now, and when he is ready to date again you will be there for him. I know that this whole situation seems confusing. But please know, that the best relationships start as friends. They are the ones that last. If you like him like you say you do... my advice is that you be his friend and when he is ready, you will be there to welcome him in with open arms. The best way to figure out the situation is to look at this from his perspective. How would you feel in his shoes?
