No it doesn't. Weight loss isn't targeted by exercise. Exercise burns calories and can build muscle and increase endurance and agility.
Everyone stores fat a bit differently, and I'm assuming you want to lose fat, not just weight in general.
If you want to lose weight, lay around and do nothing but eat vegetables and drink water. You'll drop muscle quickly and since it weighs more than fat, you'll drop pounds fast too.
Aside from that, any regular exercise burns more calories than none, so that's a good start. Couple that with adequate hydration, a balanced diet of fewer calories than you burn in a day, and at least 8 hours of sleep per night (for systemic recovery) and you should see a change after about 5 days.
