My friend and I can be rather cynical when we choose to be, especially about really lame attempts to be a good person, such as being all "Oooh, I'm Mother Teresa because I signed this online petition! ".
So imagine my surpise when I see she's done just that; dedicated a 400 word Facebook status to an online petition she's signed, encouraging others to do so as well.Rather naturally, I commented that I was "ashamed" because of this. Now, that's not really the best thing to say to a friend, but I figured it was all in good fun.Y'know, like we did to other people who posted stuff like that?
She proceeds to flip shit at me, telling me to "mind my own business" "she can post whatever the fuck she wants" "she didn't care about my attitude" etc. Now, I understand her reaction, but was it really necessary? I mean, all I did was say to her the things we said about other people.
I'm all for helping the environment and all that jazz, but I mean seriously; signing an online petition is NOT all that helpful.Really, it's not.In retrospect, I could have handled the situation better, but still.I feel like I'm not the only one at fault here.
