Friends???

I HATE it when guys use the phrase "I hope we can still be friends" when they're breaking up with you (it seems to happen a lot to me...)...
PLEASE come up with something a little more original (with the same meaning! )
It makes me physically sick to hear it!
Anyone else think guys who use this cliche line should be slapped?

I actually used the same cliche (slightly different wording) on my ex and he resents me for it... but I really did mean it, he makes a better friend than he does boyfriend by a long shot.
