Hijab

My parent think that if I put on a hijab, I won't have as many opportunities as I woul without it on.I want to be a doctor, do you think putting a hijab on will affect my overall chance of becoming a doctor? Would you, for example, not give me a job or not accept me to a school because I have a hijab on? I'm only sixteen.

If what you're trying to tell me is that there were earlier scriptures, then listen to this: there may have been earlier scriptures, such as the bible. But, those scriptures were corrupted by man, therefore they aren't complete truth. I read somewhere that the Catholic church is hiding the original bible somewhere, but i think it's just rumors. Anyway, was this what you were trying to say?

It is as I said. You are ignorant of what is in the scriptures you claim to be attempting to abide by.

Regarding other scriptures

87 : 18-19
53 : 36

Translate it as you will. Interpret it as you will. The message is clear, those earlier scriptures have their places, and knowledge of them and of the other prophets is of use to those who wish to understand the Quran.

I don't think that the choice of whether to wear a piece of cloth is the greatest of your religious problems.

I think you misunderstand, there may be other scriptures. But, the quran is meant to be the truth. Muslims need to follow the quran, not any other scripture. So, the quran is the true scripture.

I no longer question. You have made your ignorance clear with that single statement.

There's only one scripture that muslims read, the quran.

I question how well you know those scriptures.

Thank you very much, now I can explain to my parents that it's completely fine to wear it. If they still don't agree, I'll wear one when I turn eighteen. Regarding Cynic's questions, I'm going to be a pediatrician, though there may be cases where a person may be 18-21. I'm sure that I may be able to work something out, maybe I'll marry a doctor and have him work with me ;). As to dissecting carcasses for teaching tools, honestly I hadn't even thought of that, so I'll have to give it more thought. Though many people argue about many things in Islam, it usually comes down to how you interpert the Quran yourself.

I've seen many female doctors wearing a Hijab. I don't think it matters very much. As long as you are good at what you do.

It's just an article of clothing.

I think some women look really cute in them.

But it depends on where you are. What state your in.

If you're in a Red State you'd probably get some flak.

mmm Depends where you are. If you are 16 in NA, you should be in school lol. Uh wearing a hijab shouldn't make a difference. My friends from Quatar, and it's quite normal there. I don't think it matters one bit.

Interesting question, but I can think of one better.

As a future doctor, how would one be able to attend to patients while also managing to obey the strictures of being chaperoned? What would one do if required to treat an unrelated male?

Also considering the use of cadavers as teaching tools, what does one do to reconcile the teachings of the Prophet, mpbuh, with the classes that involve the reproductive system?
