Haha, yeah, it seems so. I only take prozac for OCD, though.

you should, everyone's body is different, i know of people who are fine on them, my main concern is of those who are under age. i mean, it's not as bad as prescribing amphetamines (adderall) to little kids with ADD because they can't sit still, which is among the most common psychiatric meds prescribed.

I'm of age, though young enough that the increased suicide risk applies to me. -_- I just figure that it's better to try them than to not, because they might work, and even if they all fail me at least I have a better argument against taking them (my friend has been on my case to get on meds for years).

every antidepressant has given me the apathetic mood side effect, along with lethargy and weight gain.

personally i'm against the use of antidepressants, especially when it comes to people underage (such as myself). they lower hormones (such as testosterone and growth hormone) which ultimately alter the child's health in the long run. they have the potential not only to stunt growth but cause permanent sexual dysfunction. some are also known to cause mutations in DNA.

my current OTC supplements are: GABA, arginine, 5-htp, inositol, GHRP-2 and an antioxidant complex in gummy form before i go to bed. and of course inositol when i wake up. i've not had a complete relapse in symptoms but my OCD is reduced enough to be bearable :P

It seems like it depends on the person... and at this point I feel like, skeptical as I am, I need to give them a chance. I was on celexa, just started effexor, I'm thinking I'd try a third before saying they can't help me. Even if I do find a drug that works, I have to intention of using it long term...

I've not noticed anyone on antidepressants having a lack of energy if they use their meds correctly at the proper dosages.

But then, people react differently to medication.

eh i'm off everything, i was on: effexor, prozac, risperidone (depression in a pill), zoloft, and now i'm prescribed celexa although i don't take it.

the meds work (i'm on them for OCD/anxiety) but they kill your energy levels...

if you're depressed you should try mucuna dopa, it's a drug you can buy online or even at your local GNC, it's literally a happy pill with enjoyable effects, but you also have to take it with antioxidants because if you don't follow a good diet it can fry your brain cells in the long run.

i use this very occasionally and i'm taking a shot of GHRP-2 daily (for muscle mass - it's a growth hormone releaser), which i've noticed calms me down a whole lot, even though it's just a peptide-hormone.

heh seems like that currently doesn't it? I'm tempted to say "screw it, not gonna work," but I doubt I have a whole lot of choice there.
