I'm in love with my best friend.

i've been best friends with this kid since november of 2007. he had a girlfriend & he was just beginning to lead me into maybe a relationship between us.
him and his girlfriend finally broke up and he admitted his liking for me. & i admitted i had liked him for a while now & we "talked" for a while.
& just a few months ago he just stopped talking to me all together.
i think he might be back together with his ex.
which sucks & i'm heartbroken.
the thing is that i wasn't allowed to tell anyone that we liked eachother.

i felt like i was keeping a secret from all my friends.
should i feel guilty.?
