Numb from life

I am numb.
My job has made me numb. I work in ministry and, after many, many years of waiting for my fellow Christians to begin living what we all claim to believe, I have reached a place of honestly wondering if that will ever actually happen this side of heaven. The blending of hope and realization has left me numb.
Finances have made me numb. It seems that regardless of what we do to get just a little bit ahead, the cost of living on this planet continues to eat away at us - so much so that I find myself easily discouraged. This has left me numb.
I have a child who is struggling with drugs and other heavy issues. This has also left me feeling numb.
I have a feeling the numbness will wear off - sometime.
But for now - I remain numb.
