Pro Gay Marriage

I was watching this documentary about gay marriage and how it was made legal in massachusetts, but only for a short amount of time I believe...anyway, I do not understand why people are so protective over the "true" definition of marriage being one man and one woman.

because any other definition would destroy the sanctity? well I have a lesbian friend who made a very god point.

it's not the homosexual community that is destroying the sanctity of marriage, it's the heterosexual community.

1.when you marry, you vow to be with that person until death, but divorce rates get higher and higher - so technically you lied...to god.
2.married men and women cheat on their spouses all the time.
3.it's all too easy nowadays to have a flyby marriage in vegas or wherever
4.and then to have it annulled.

it's so absurd to think that these things are okay, but the marriage of a same sex couple - a couple whose lives you won't have anything to do with - is immoral...

really...?

it's the 21st century and things are changing.they have changed! I think it's time for our old laws to change too.

The thing that pisses me off as a gay man, is that there are two senses of "marriage" that are being summed up as one:

1. A religious union you make with another before the eyes of God that is sanctioned by the Church.

2. A Civil institution recognized by the state which entitles you to tax breaks and property rights.

I DON'T CARE ABOUT ANY RELIGIOUS AGREEMENT WITH GOD.
I just want the same rights and privileges that any straight couple would get.

You can get married at City Hall just as legally as in a church with a priest. I only want the former, you can keep the latter, thankyouverymuch.

I think that's a fairly well known point that people just choose to ignore. I see how men and women destroy marriage for money, only to end up divorcing a year later. This is why I don't believe in marriage. If marriage only has like a 50% chance of lasting, that's not convincing enough for me.

I completely support Gay Marriage.

I agree. Not because I am a lesbian - I'm heterosexual - but because I believe that refusing marriage to homosexuals defeats the purpose of marriage.

I do not believe that marriage is merely a union between a man and a woman.

It is a union between two SOULS that love each other.

Why should it matter what bodies those souls are in?
