I've been thinking a lot lately. A few of my friends are those people who say that everyone is special. I don't think I can agree with this anymore. I've met so many people, from very different backgrounds, with different niches in society. Just a couple years back I managed to hang out with groups of people who were polar opposites. Do you know what I realized, after getting close to them? We are all essentially the same. True, there's the personality differences, but those are very minor. Personality seems to just be a facade. At first I found this repulsive, as many of you probably do. But now...I find a little comfort in it. We are all the same. We are mannequins, trying to stand out by covering ourselves in what we think will garner attention, but you know what? I don't think it matters. Because deep down, we all share the same problems, and most of us, the ones who don't try to be "special" in a bad way, find the same comforts. In fact, the only sincerely individual people I know are ostracized for it.This is because special isn't always good, and most people who claim to be special aren't. No matter what you feel, someone else out there feels it too, and they're making it out alive. So can you.
