I did this exact same thing when I came on here, and felt the exact same way.

I moved to michigan for a year to be with a girl once.. I was 18 at the time and we lived at her house.
Her mom was almost ALWAYS strung out on pills/pot and was disabled but was unable to receive any money due to a lawsuit thingy.
No one had a job. We had to hustle cans so that we could turn them in and afford buying some food.
A year we went through it, and it was awful.

It's pretty shitty of me to say this, but I recommend breaking away from your family... I broke away from mine and am finally really happy in life.
I like you, you seem pretty smart. Don't just stop learning and growing because your family sucks (sorry).
Maybe it's not as easy for you to do, but even if you start taking actions towards it I'm sure your family would really notice and maybe, as long as they aren't vindictive, they would try to change too.
