Lauren and Joey are right. And you know what? Don't feel bad about it. You've done a lot of good by helping people out.
I had a random guy find me on myspace who was genuinely suicidal. My first instinct was to ignore him, but I ignored that instead. It turns out, he was military, and I don't know what kind of access to firearms he had. I talked him through enough to calm him down, and then I went to the police and had him taken into protective custody. I don't know him well, but if I hadn't been there, God knows what he would've done to himself. Some may not think that was the best thing to do, but I couldn't have helped him as much as he wanted, and he's now in a place where he can at least start to get his life back on track.
If you are able to advise people, then many of them probably see you as as blessing. Look at it that way.
